What is Slope Rider?

Slope Rider is a nonstop downhill sledding game in three-dimensional space. Your sled automatically moves at an increasing speed. Your sole objective is to survive as long as possible by avoiding hazards and jumping over gaps or obstacles. Gift boxes or coins that can unlock new sleds are scattered along the track; your score is determined by the distance you've traveled and the time you've survived.

Slope Rider's Simple Gameplay Mechanics

Core Loop

The sled accelerates downhill as you start running. You can avoid trees, rocks, logs, snowballs, and steep cliffs by steering left or right. When possible, jumping allows you to avoid low obstacles, gaps, and falling debris. A fall or collision will end the game immediately. The longer you survive, the faster you go, gradually reducing the time you have to react.

Controls

On desktop: To control, use the left or right arrow keys or A/D; to jump, use the up arrow key or W (or sometimes the Space key).
Mobile version: To control, swipe left or right; to jump, tap.

The controls seem simple, but at high speeds, precise timing and predictability become crucial.

Tips for longer runs in Slope Rider

To maximize reaction time to obstacles coming from the sides, stay as close to the center of the track as possible.
Only jump when absolutely necessary; otherwise, your position may be affected.
Instead of focusing solely on the sled directly in front of you, look ahead.
Only risk collecting gift boxes when the track appears clear; chasing them into a cluster of obstacles will often end the run.
To develop muscle memory for increasing speed, practice in short sessions.
